User manuals

Two short guides, written for the people who use the system every day — no technical background needed.

You are… Read
The fax owner — the medical assistant who looks after the Elation fax inbox and trends lab values Fax owner's guide
A doctor or reviewer who answers the system's questions about lab test codes Doctor's quick review guide

What the system does, in one paragraph. A fax arrives in the Elation fax inbox. Every few minutes during clinic hours the system reads it, finds the patient's chart, reads every lab value on the pages and files the values it is sure about to the chart — the way you would have trended them by hand. When a fax needs a person (some values could not be coded, the fax is not a lab result, the patient was not found), it writes a note in Spruce that pages the right person and says what to do. Once a week a doctor answers the questions the system could not decide on its own, so the next fax with the same test is filed automatically.

Where things are

Address
The fax app (staff site) https://fax-staff-gate.dhruv-5ef.workers.dev — sign in with the practice's fax-app password (shared by the operator, not your Elation password)
Fax notices in Spruce (the fax owner's thread) https://app.sprucehealth.com/org/entity_11BVUJS602O00/thread/t_2QLM8OK407800 — open Spruce and sign in first
The patient's chart Elation, as always

Nothing in the fax app shows a patient's name. The chart in Elation is the only place for that.

If something looks wrong — a result on the wrong chart, a value that does not match the fax, a document filed as the wrong kind — press Something is wrong on the fax's page in the fax app (the fax owner's guide shows how; twenty seconds). The operator (Dhruv) reads every report on the app's Problems page, with the original fax kept for 30 days, and that is how the system gets fixed. Do not try to correct the system from inside Elation: changing a value or a code there does not teach it anything (the doctor's guide explains how codes are corrected) — and never print a report from Elation and send it back to the fax inbox.
